Full-time Intake Administrative Clerk - Pickerington and Lancaster locations
Responsibilities: Taking phone calls from clients or facilities scheduling intakes for new or returning clients and ensure that the client is scheduled appropriately within designated guidelines. Contact referring offices and schedule clients referred by those offices. Performing the client intake process to include providing new or returning client paperwork, reviewing paperwork with the client for accuracy and completeness, registration of the new client in the system and updating returning client demographics and ensuring the information that has been entered is accurate and complete. Obtaining new or returning client insurance information, verifying eligibility and benefits information and communicating client financial responsibility to include copays, deductibles and coinsurances.
Review new or returning client insurance requirements to ensure that services needing prior authorization are identified and that the appropriate staff are notified to ensure those authorizations are obtained prior to services rendered.
Perform eligibility checks for all next-day appointments and update the client account as needed. Identify accounts where coverage has expired and make contact with the patient to obtain updated coverage or other financial arrangements as needed. Review and update client accounts when coverage has changed and has been identified by the front desk staff. Provide front office telephone support and coverage as needed.
Qualifications: Minimum of high school diploma and two years previous medical front office experience required. Must be able to work independently in an organized fashion. Must be detail oriented. Must possess good communication skills and be able to work with diverse agency staff and clientele. Must have excellent customer service skills. Must possess computer training and/or experience.
