School-based Therapist: Franklin Local schools
This position can be part-time or full-time.

 

Responsibilities: Provides school-based prevention/intervention services: interviews referred student for screening; consults with parents; consults with school personnel; provides individual and/or small group supportive services as appropriate; refer for more intensive mental health/ATOD services, protective services and other social services; attends team meetings as assigned and individual education plan (IEP) meetings as requested by the school; maintain regular contact with the school social worker; plans, develops and provides direct educational services including classroom presentations, teacher trainings and parent education trainings; provides crisis intervention and school-based emergency support services to staff and students in the event of a whole-school crisis as directed by supervisor or clinical director. Conducts home visits as needed.
Indirect Services: Attends staff and departmental meetings; attends regular supervision sessions; follows agency policies and procedures; travels to schools as necessary; completes monthly reports and paperwork, performs active collaboration with community organizations and/or with other agency staff working on the same case; attends training as needed performs other related duties.

 

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or greater in mental health related discipline; social work and/or counselor licensure is required (LSW, LISW, LPC, or LPCC). Position requires the ability to work cooperatively with educators within the school setting; to impart knowledge/teach groups of children and adults; to be self-directed, dependable, organized and possess good communication skills and to be sensitive and attentive to the cultural needs of each student and family. Also required is a knowledge of the DSM-V, HIPPA and mandated reporting laws.

Position is for school calendar year only. Opportunities for summer work placement if desired.
