School SMART Lab Facilitator: Berne Union High School, Liberty Union Middle School and Millersport Junior High/High School.


Responsibilities: Facilitates the SMART (Stress Management and Resiliency Training) Lab in a school setting by providing behavioral support for students, creating and maintaining a positive environment, engaging students in restorative practices, and assisting students in the development of social/emotional skills. Collaborates with each school administration to create a “social emotional safe space” that includes computers and computer software to teach students social/emotional skills needed such as stress management, conflict resolution and emotional regulation. Provides oversight, training and follow-up for SMART Labs computer equipment to school staff and students; assist in creating policies related to the use of the SMART labs; works closely with each school to provide services tailored to each school’s needs. Attends community meetings as needed; documentation as needed; maintains records for reporting purposes; completes “Certified HeartMath Interventions Practitioner” trauma-informed care and conscious discipline training; additional duties as assigned by supervisor.


Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in mental health related discipline; social work and/or counselor licensure preferred. Position requires the ability to work cooperatively within the school setting; to be self-directed, dependable, organized and possess good communication skills; to be sensitive and attentive to the cultural needs of each student and family. Must understand and effectively work with technology.
